Tred Avon Yacht Club (TAYC) and Shields Fleet #21 is honored to host the Shields Nationals for the fourth time, and our club could not be more excited to once again host this premier event. TAYC is a full-service yacht club with a long tradition of running top-tier one-design regattas. Competitors will enjoy our beautiful waterfront clubhouse, on-site dining, convenient launch facilities and 25+ slips (and free moorings) for visiting boats. You will have the opportunity to enjoy Maryland blue crabs Eastern shore style as one of the evening events!
Nestled on Maryland’s Eastern Shore, Oxford is steeped in maritime charm and history. The Oxford-Bellevue Ferry, located right next to the club, has been in operation since the 1600s! The town’s timeless beauty even inspired James Michener’s classic novel Chesapeake.
When not racing, you will find plenty to explore - from the galleries, shops, and restaurants of Oxford, Easton and St. Michaels to the scenic water views and quiet charm that make this region a sailor’s paradise.
Racing will take place on the wide open Choptank River just south of the Tred Avon Yacht Club. Cool early Fall breezes and warm water create an ideal location for sailing!
Come for the competition, stay for the camaraderie - and experience the best of the Eastern Shore’s sailing hospitality at the 2026 Shields Nationals in Oxford, MD!
